About Me
My name is Missie. My best friend Chris and I are the ridiculous animal lovers running this mess.

New Zealand White Rabbits
Lovely for shows, meat, pets or pelt.

Ancona Chickens
Working with a bird that can handle itself against predators and keep you in eggs is all the fun one can have!

American Chinchilla Rabbits
These are really Chris's project, but I have more room and more motivation, so why not?

What's Going On!
March 2026
It's been a yucky Winter, but I've gotten a lot of education and organization done with the rabbitry. I completed a wonderful course on Rabbitry running from Bobby Jimenez and "The Rabbitry Center". He is simply awesome, and so generous with his time and knowledge. I thought I was awful smart going into the course, but I learned a lot of new stuff. I highly advise anyone serious about their rabbits to take his courses.
I bred 4 Does to 4 different bucks for Spring litters due March 27th, 2026. "Sassy"and "Izzy" are both hay-staching and pulling fur so their nest boxes are in. The new girl "Project Alice" is not showing signs. Her latest experimentation was to breed her while she still had 3 week old Chinchilla mix kits from her escape this Winter. She got her own cage 2 weeks after breeding and she seems pretty happy. She can see her kids in the big hutch and they are doing well. She got a date with Tex so if she has kits now that is awesome, if she doesn't he'll get another date. He'll be so happy.
"O.B. One" the American Chinchilla I bought for Christophers birthday a year ago was still in my rabbitry- fat and bored. I put her in the run for a month to exercise, then bred her to the buck I rescued from Christophers A.C.'s last year when he was having issues keeping his rabbits healthy. "Boopy Doo" the Chinchilla buck is now healthy, gorgeous and sweet so I thought he'd really enjoy a couple dates with O.B. She is a colony rabbit at heart, so it's hard to get her excited about a buck. They both just seemed unimpressed with each other. I let them date 3 times, but they kept cuddling, calmly. I didn't observe closely. My failure, so I get to wonder- will she kindle? Since the Chinchilla's are very low priority we'll just see what happens. They are so pretty and have such wonderful temperment, just not my favorite at all.
Fingers crossed the April update has lots of babies!
